Stunning Mountain Views And Amazing Cabins
It is common for people who visit the western North Carolina mountains to instantly fall in love with the area. From outdoor adventure enthusiasts and waterfall explorers to anglers and scenic byway drivers, those who love these mountains are drawn to its beauty and serenity.
Aside from the abundance of natural resources there are numerous picturesque small towns whose streets are dotted with local breweries, coffee shops, farm-to-table restaurants, general stores, and unique crafts from local artisans. The historic Main Streets of these small towns remind us of simpler times and attract visitors from all over who are looking to slow down and unwind.
For Mike & Cate Szabo, owners of Cabin Hosts Vacation Rentals, their love affair with the Blue Ridge Mountains started with a trip to unwind and enjoy the beauty of the fall foliage in 2012.
They fell in love with the Asheville area, and for the next few years they made the annual October pilgrimage renting cabins in the surrounding mountains.
Hunting For The Perfect Cabin
After returning from their 2015 vacation they began making plans to purchase their own cabin instead of renting each trip, with the intention of renting it out when they weren’t there.
In 2016, the Szabo’s were searching for the perfect plot of land to build their dream cabin. As fate would have it, they got lost and found themselves unknowingly climbing the steep and curvy Highway 74 from Fairview to its intersection with Highway 9 near the west entrance of Chimney Rock.
They immediately fell in love and knew this was the spot.
In a matter of minutes they contacted a Real Estate agent, set up an appointment, and found the perfect cabin and location for their relaxing mountain retreat. They named it Rock View Cabin.
It is perched high above the center of Chimney Rock Village giving it a sense of being remote, yet conveniently located to shops and restaurants. The views from the deck and hot tub have an unobstructed view of Chimney Rock and Hickory Nut Falls. The views are absolutely breathtaking.
Time To Grow
The Rock View Cabin was an instant hit among renters. It was quickly evident their vision for creating a relaxing mountain retreat was a success.
Two years later, Mike & Cate found a perfect piece of land and built a log cabin in nearby Lake Lure. They aptly named it, “Lure of the Woods.” It is perfectly situated on the property to take advantage of views of Party Rock & Rumbling Bald Mountain, a local favorite for bouldering, climbing, hiking and mountain biking.
Lure of the Woods is a well appointed cabin with modern amenities, custom made wood furniture (hand-made by Mike & Cate), a large outdoor fire pit, comfortable leather seating, gas fire place, and a modern kitchen, providing a perfect blend of modern yet rustic.
Intentional Hosts
“We put our heart and soul into the cabins and it is our mission to ensure our guests trust us to provide a clean, comfortable space for their holiday.”
The Szabo’s have traveled extensively and have stayed in numerous Airbnb accommodations. They bring that experience to their role as hosts and have tried to think of everything that will make their guests stay as enjoyable as possible.
From a fully stocked kitchen with dishes, glassware, utensils, to laundry detergent, hair dryers, sheets, towels, and toothpaste, Cabin Hosts Vacation Rentals wants your vacation or weekend getaway to be a memorable experience.
“We want our guests to walk into vacation and not feel stressed out…to have a nice relaxing vacation with no obstacles.”
It is evident that the rental cabins are more than profit makers to Mike & Cate. The cabins are an extension of themselves and a reflection of their love for the mountains and their personal travel experiences. They regularly stay in them to make sure they are seeing the cabin through their visitor’s eyes, and are continually making improvements based on visitor feedback to make the customer experience even more special.
